About the Role

The Welsh Government Traffic Officer Service represents the public face of the Welsh Government on the highway. Traffic Officers patrol the A55/A494/A550/A483 Trunk Road Network in North Wales.

Who we’re looking for

Job Specific Criteria
Essential

Respond to incidents, an essential role in the safety of the road network.

Promote and build good working relationships with key stakeholders e.g. emergency services, members of the public.

Assist in identifying where road infrastructure might be enhanced or improved to improve safety.

Flexibility in working shift patterns and ability to be able to work reasonable overtime when required.

Reliably work 12hr shift patterns 4-on-4-off (including weekends and Bank Holidays).

Applicants must live within 45minutes of their operational base.

Qualifications and relevant training
Essential

Experience in an operational/customer focused role.

Current valid driving licence.

Relevant Experience
Essential

Experience of supervising others in an operational environment.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to demonstrate resilience in different situations.

Actively supports and assists the team to reach their objectives.

Recognise Health and Safety best practices.

Language requirements
Essential

The ability to communicate in both Welsh and English is desirable.
