About the Role

As an Climate Change and Environmental IT and GIS Data Transformation Analyst IT and GIS Data Transformation Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing spatial data management systems to support Agency operations within the Climate Change and Environmental team. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data into financial and operational IT systems and analyse geo-referenced datasets to produce insightful reports for senior management, facilitating strategic decision-making.

In addition, you’ll conduct data cleansing, maintenance, and analysis of asset inventory datasets related to our strategic road network. You’ll implement solutions using industry best practices, ensuring the future-proof development of spatial IT systems and the security and confidentiality of sensitive data. Providing support to internal and external teams in IT solution development and delivering objectives within agreed timelines and budgets are also key aspects of this role.

  • Extensive experience working in a professional GIS environment.
  • Experience of undertaking analytical, problem solving to aid system design and deployment, judgmental and creative skills.
  • Experience of design and maintenance of on premise or cloud-based management systems.
  • Experience of promoting the use of digital technology to improve employee interaction/knowledge, processes and innovation.
  • Experience of digitising information to increases efficiency and enable automation.
  • Experience of working within a supportive environment in providing support to customers.

Skills and specialist knowledge
Essential

  • An advanced understanding of GIS platforms, tools and analysis.
  • A thorough understanding of data security.

Language requirements
Essential

The ability to speak English is essential and the ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role
