16 Apr Engineering Success: Stuart Hancocks Paves the Way to CIHT Fellowship

NMWTRA’s ITS and Electrical Technology Asset Manager, Stuart Hancocks, has become a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation (FCIHT), the highest grade of membership awarded by the CIHT.
This represents an outstanding and thoroughly deserved achievement, recognising exceptional dedication, expertise and significant contributions to the profession at the highest level.
The Fellowship is awarded to CIHT members who have made a significant contribution to the profession and achieved a high level of competency in their sector. To become a Fellow of the CIHT members need to have reached a senior leadership level in the highways or transport profession and can demonstrate meaningful impact on the industry.
Commenting on his achievement, Stuart said: “I am delighted to share that I have been awarded Fellow status by the CIHT. Achieving Fellowship is a significant professional honour and represents recognition from industry peers for my experience, leadership and commitment to advancing the highways and transportation sector.”
Stuart added: “Over the past 25 years working in the highways and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) sector across the UK, I have had the privilege of contributing to a wide range of projects that have shaped the development and operation of our transport networks. For the past eight years, I have been with NMWTRA, supporting the strategic management and development of key routes across North and Mid Wales.”
This milestone reflects many years of dedication, continuous professional development and a genuine passion for improving infrastructure and the communities it serves.
He continued: “I’m incredibly grateful to the colleagues, clients, mentors and teams I’ve worked alongside throughout my career who have supported and inspired me along the way.
I look forward to continuing to contribute to the profession and to championing innovation within our industry. My sincere thanks to the CIHT for this prestigious recognition.”
